Please read below for two upcoming action opportunities:
1) Global Call-in Action for the Panchen Lama:
Tuesday, May 17th will mark 16 years since the the Panchen Lama's disappearance. Gendhun Choekyi Nyima was just 6 years old in 1995 when Chinese authorities abducted him and his family. He has not been seen since and his current whereabouts are unkown.
For the last sixteen years, Tibetans, concerned people worldwide, and human rights organizations have urged the Chinese government to allow the Panchen Lama to return to his rightful place at Tashilumpo monastery in Tibet.
Thank you to everyone who took action on April 25, the Panchen Lama's 22nd birthday and the launch of a campaign to demand China reveal his whereabouts. This Tuesday, May 17, please take further action by calling the Chinese embassy in Washington, DC at 202-495-2266 to ask, “Where is the Panchen Lama?”
