My name is Brian Yu; I am a teacher at David Thompson Secondary School in Vancouver. I am also the Chairperson for the B.C. Business Education Association - Conference 2005. Please have a look at our conference website: http://www3.telus.net/bcbea/
This year's conference will be held at Whistler B.C., the home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Judging by the positive turnout of our last year's conference, I am sure this year's conference will be a big success. We are anticipating an attendance of approximately 200 delegates.
Over the years, I have noticed that there are a large number of teachers, including myself who teach in several departments. In our upcoming conference, we have several topics that may be of interest to starting teachers and veteran teachers alike, particularly Planning 10, and Graduation Portfolio.
Our keynote speaker this year is Mary-Anne Neal from the Ministry of Education. She will speak on the delivery of the Graduation Portfolio program that will be implemented starting this September.
As a member of our association, your conference fee of $150.00 (before Sep 30th) will ensure you an opportunity to gain insights directly from leading edge professionals in the business and educational fields. http://www3.telus.net/bcbea/pages/confsched.html
If you need accommodation, we have secured a conference hotel for your convenience. For a special price of $79.00 per night for a deluxe room, you will not find a better deal anywhere in the Whistler Village. The Listel Hotel is just minutes walk from the conference centre. You can make your reservation online at: http://www3.telus.net/bcbea/pages/accommodations.html
Worry about the drive up to Whistler, we have that covered as well. We are providing several buses to accommodate various conference attendees' needs (Must register by Sep 30th). For a fee of $20.00 you will receive round trip transportation from Vancouver to Whistler and back. See our website for specific details. http://www3.telus.net/bcbea/pages/transportation.html
Lastly, if you can help us by downloading our conference brochure and pass it onto your friends and colleagues, that would be greatly appreciated. Our association holds no boundaries and barriers towards anyone from other departments. After all, we are all teaching professionals working together in a rich and diverse teaching environment. http://www3.telus.net/bcbea/Business%20Education%20Conference%202005%20V3.pdf
