NEXT PANORAMA - BRITAIN'S DIRTY BEACHES - TONIGHT, 7 SEPTEMBER 8.30PM ON BBC ONE
------------------------------------------------------------
Hello there,
BRITAIN'S DIRTY BEACHES
With the last of the summer Bank Holiday weekends now behind us, this week's programme investigates beneath the sand and surf of Britain's beaches.
The quality of UK bathing water is in decline as Declan Lawn discovers as he travels the coast and sees results from scientific tests commissioned by Panorama.
Washout summers and heavy rain have put greater pressure on the UK's sewage system in the last few years, resulting in greater reliance in some areas on Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs). These are used in times of emergency to pump waste, including sewage, tampons and condoms, straight out to sea.
Britain's Dirty Beaches is tonight at 8.30pm on BBC One.
And we'd like to hear from you. Send us your stories, pictures or videos from beaches you've visited in the UK - we'll be mapping the good, the bad and the ugly based on what you send us:
