Hi everyone... new to this group...

(Pardon me if this is a repeat, I have sent it before but never
received any requested digest nor any evidence my post showed up - I
switched to feed as someone said digest was not too reliable (been
getting reliable digests for PCI list for years?) Just saw a post
about an SE on this list and there was a reference to some trouble
with Tiger by Bob, ColonelPanik, which may have something to do with
my problem?).

I have a QS 933 running Tiger, a 7300 running 9.1 and an Apple
Personal LaserWriter 4/600 connected by serial to the 7300. This
printer has no ethernet. It _requires_ AppleTalk I think. I will not
be getting onto eBay or into my car to buy anything else whatsoever
until there is convincing evidence I cannot do any of the 3 things
below with what I have. Ideally I would like

1. to press keys and move my mouse on the QS and something gets
printed on the printer.

If I can't have this, I want

2. to be able to do something on the QS to move a file to the 7300 (I
am really really good at the rest from the 7300...)

If I can't have this, I want

3. to get onto the controls of the 7300 and grab files from the QS
and then I know what to do to print them.

Before anyone says anything to me on this subject, if there are two
or three or more ways to go from any particular step, I will be lost
and frustrated! Please do not assume I know what you know.

If you are are not sure, just give me the very first steps which
_cannot_ be misinterpreted. (e.g.. I can turn on the QS. I can turn
on the 7300. I am really good at these tasks. And they do not induce
any sense of equivocation or anxiety. This is how algorithms should
be... :)

The printer is always on. I have an ethernet crossover cable in brand
new condition connected to the ethernet ports of both computers.
There are even signs that file sharing is active - do you think I
haven't tried already :) - but I will not go into all this as I am
rather confused. The crossover cable was used by me a couple of years
back to successfully connect a 7300 and a 7600 on 8.6 (or 9). It was
a miracle that I did it and cannot recall much of how. (i.e.. the
cable is good.)
