Tried a clean install on my Dell Latitude E6500 laptop. The install went
ok, but I do not have a panel on my gnome desktop.

I am able to use alt-f2 to run  a terminal from the application pop up,
but it sure would be nice if I could simply select it from the panel
like I used to...

I am looking into it...
