Entries to the Western Australian Web Awards are now OPEN! Enter your
websites for a chance at winning great prizes and being recognized as the
best in your field.
HURRY....its less than three weeks before entries close on Wednesday 27
July!
What's this mean to you? Well, we've been working frantically behind the
scenes to bring to the WA industry their own evening of recognition of the
excellent work produced online in our fair state, and here's your chance to
show off the projects you've launched within the last financial year.
It's very important to us, not from a financial angle (although it helps pay
for this night!) but from an industry angle, that we recognise as many of
the great projects that we've all been involved in. The more entries we
receive, the better the chances that next year we'll have even more
sponsors, and a fairer indication fo the entire web industry.
Please go to
http://www.wawebawards.com.au, read the Terms and guidelines,
and enter those sites you've been proud of. Sure there's a small fee per
entry, but this is designed to cover the cost of judges flying in, the big
night itself (August 19th) and more. The entire process is organised by
volunteers, and Port 80 Inc. is a registered not for profit association.
I'd like to take this opportunity also to thank our sponsors, who have
helped make these awards great. They are:
The Western Australian Internet Association (www.waia.asn.au)
Edith Cowan University (www.ecu.edu.au)
Macromedia Australia (www.macromedia.com.au)
Tickets to the evening will be going on sale shortly - please stay tuned,
and set aside Friday 19th August 2005 for our big night of nights!
Regards,
Miles Burke.
Chairperson, Port 80 Inc.
